Former Chief of Staff to the former Governor of Cross River State and Chairman of the GFO Orim Foundation, Chief Hon. Martin Orim, on Saturday, 15 August 2026, joined dignitaries, family members, friends and well-wishers at a Thanksgiving Ceremony held in honour of Ms. Justina Akem (RTD) at the St. Charles Catholic Church Open Auditorium.
Chief Hon. Orim attended the ceremony alongside his entourage and used the occasion to celebrate the life, service and achievements of Ms. Akem, whom he described as an Amazon whose impact has extended beyond Nigeria.
He commended her for her remarkable contributions to public service, resilience and positive influence on the lives of those around her, noting that her journey remains an example of dedication and service.
The ceremony attracted prominent personalities from across Cross River State and beyond, including the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, who was represented by the Commissioner for Lands, Dr. Erasmus Ekpang.
Political leaders, party supporters, colleagues, family members, friends and well-wishers also attended the thanksgiving ceremony to celebrate with Ms. Akem and share in the significance of the occasion.
In his remarks, Chief Hon. Orim also expressed solidarity with the Ayade family during their period of mourning, following the recent passing of a member of the family. He prayed that God would grant the family strength, comfort and the fortitude to bear the loss.
He further prayed for Ms. Justina Akem (RTD), asking God to grant her long life, sound health and continued blessings as she begins another chapter of her life.
The occasion ended with prayers of thanksgiving and goodwill as family members, friends and associates celebrated Ms. Akem’s service, accomplishments and enduring contributions to society.
