The Head of the Education Department in Akampka Local Government, Mrs. Blessing Ukama, has sent warm congratulations to Hon (Ophot) Felix Akposi KSJI, the Executive Chairman of Akampka Local Government, as he marks both his Thanksgiving and the completion of his first 100 days in office.

In a statement shared with newsmen in Calabar, Mrs. Ukama praised Hon Akposi for his dedication to important issues like community development, improving local infrastructure, and advancing education. She highlighted how his efforts are making a positive difference in the lives of residents in Akampka.

In her message, Mrs. Ukama said:

Hon. Chief (Dr) Martin Orim has established a remarkable legacy in leadership, philanthropy, and community development in Cross River State. As the visionary founder of the GFO Orim Foundation and the former Chief of Staff to the immediate past Governor of Cross River State, his dedication to public service has significantly transformed countless lives.

Through strategic initiatives focused on infrastructure development, human empowerment, education, social welfare, and economic sustainability, Chief Orim has left an indelible mark on Cross River State. 3. Securing funding for a three-classroom block in Udigie, Obudu, from BORDERCOM Abuja, expanding educational infrastructure for growing student populations.

5. Distributing thousands of exercise books to public primary and secondary school students in Obudu Local Government Area, ensuring that basic learning materials are available to every child.

4. Gifting over 80 vehicles and 200 motorcycles to individuals, improving transportation access for business, education, and healthcare needs.

3. Facilitating employment opportunities for Cross Riverians in various security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, Military, Civil Defence, DSS, and NDLEA, thereby strengthening local security.

• Installing solar-powered streetlights in Alege/Ubang and Ukpe Wards, enhancing nighttime visibility and security.

The formation of the Northern Cross River State Political Movement (NORTHCRIPOM) by Prince Michael Nkum Abuo has encountered huge backlash from its intended members.

The NORTHCRIPOM group, initially conceived as a unifying platform to align with the principles of the Northern Cross River Coalition (NORTHCCO), which was formed to rally political support for Governor Bassey Otu and other notable figures from Northern Cross River in anticipation of the 2027 elections, has rapidly spiraled into controversy.

NORTHCRIPOM took an unexpected turn when Nkum Abuo publicly contradicted his earlier statements. According to Abuo, “Instead of a candidate less than the profile and proven people building the capacity of JAJ, we will openly repeat and canvass for Jarigbe’s return… Northern CRS will never settle for less, never again!” This declaration not only shifted the group’s focus but also alienated many members who were initially supportive.

In response to Abuo’s comments, a wave of discontent swept through the proposed structure of NORTHCRIPOM, prompting numerous members to issue formal public disclaimers. While they reaffirmed their membership with the NORTHCCO, they have vehemently distanced themselves from Nku Abuo’s NORTHCRIPOM, expressing concerns that Abuo’s recent statements misrepresent their collective goals and values.

However, I pledge my total and unalloyed support and dedication to the leadership of NORTHCCO, and I promise to deliberately and consciously work side by side with the Objectives, Vision, and Mission Statement of NORTHCCO.
