Northern Cross River Front Congratulates Governor Otu, Odey On Their Tribunal Victory.

Northern Cross River Front has felicitated with the governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Otu, and His Deputy, His Excellency Rt Hon. Peter Odey on their victory at the Cross River Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.

In a message signed by Hroup’s Chairman, Ntufam Professor Zana Akpagu and its Secretary, High Chief Henry Onwe, the Northern Cross River Front said the victory of the governor is a confirmation and reaffirmation of the overwhelming mandate freely given by the good people of Cross River State to the two leaders.

The release reads in part; “Sir, we heartily congratulate you and your deputy on your overwhelming victory at the polls, your successful inauguration into office, and the very impressive scorecard of their Excellencies’ first 100 days in office.

The 10-man Group which is an assemblage of seasoned politicians with a huge followership insisted that Governor Otu’s tribunal victory is a vindication of the rotation principles adopted by Cross Riverians which has guaranteed justice, equity, fairness, and harmonious coexistence in the state.

The statement further reminded the governor of the ground swell of support and goodwill he enjoys stating that; “You are passionately loved and fondly referred to as Sweet Prince by the people of the state beginning from the hills of Obanliku to the swamps of Bakassi.

The group believes that the judgment will allow Cross Riverians to continue enjoying the season of sweetness as characterized by the quick delivery of the dividends of democracy in the state. They also call on the opposition to sheath their sword and join hands with the government for the rapid development of the state.

The Group stated that the good works started by the governor in the first 100 days in office speak volumes and heavens bear testament to the work he is set to do and as such no one should frustrate the plan of God for our dear state.

“This is what the people of the state have been yearning for and their prayers brought you to the office and nobody should attempt to stop Cross Riverians from enjoying the moment of good governance,” said the Front.

Corp Member, Unie Patrick bags best performance award as he donates 30 classroom desks to his PPA.

Unie Patrick Enimen, a National Youth Service Corp member (BN/22C/1061), has received an award of Most Outstanding Corp Member of the Year, 2023, from Command Secondary School, as he constructed and delivered thirty (30) three-seater classroom desks to his Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) in Makurdi, Benue State.

Presenting the award, the school Commandant, Lt. Col. A. Baderin, described Unie Patrick as a hard-working and patriotic Nigerian. He used the opportunity to encourage Youth Corp Members to imbibe the spirit of patriotism in their service to the Nation.

Unie Patrick who hails from Obanliku Local Government Area and also serves as the Project Manager of Digital Onboarders CommunCity Development Service Group, and Corps Liaison Officer of Command Corp members, explained that he was inspired to assist in any little way because of the growing needs in the education sector, having been trained in Woodwork by the Fabrication Academy of West Africa in Calabar, Cross River State.

The Project was commissioned by the Benue State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Abe Dankaro, and in attendance were the NYSC Assistant Director of CDS, the NYSC Assistant Directors of CDS, Discipline and Reward Branches, the Makurdi Zonal Inspector, Makurdi Local Government Inspector, Digital Onboarder CDS Supervisor, other NYSC officials, Corps Members, Students and staff of Command Secondary School Makurdi, Benue State.

Education: Joseph Odey to empower SSCE students with the best grades in WAEC, extends application date by two weeks

Mr. Joseph Odey, a business management professional from Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State Northern Senatorial District, has disclosed plans to award a cash gift of #500,000 and an HP laptop to the secondary school student with the best grades in West African Examination Council (WAEC), in the 2023 examination from Cross River North.

According to Mr. Joesph Odey, the cash gift and laptop award is intended to encourage continuous academic excellence among young ones in the Cross River North region, and the award will be presented on the 4th of October, 2023.

Aside from the cash gift of #500,000 and an HP laptop, Mr. Odey said that academic textbooks will also be donated to the awardee’s school.

Find below the guidelines for candidates’ participation:

1. Applications have been extended until Sunday, October 08. The award will be presented on Monday, October 16, 2023.

2. You should have a minimum of A grades in at least 4 subjects in the 2023 WAEC SSCE exams to apply.

3. The candidate with the highest number of A1 grades will win the award.

4. Qualifying candidates should come from any of the 5 LGAs in Cross River North (Bekwarra, Obanliku, Obudu, Ogoja, or Yala).

5. Please upload your LGA certificate of origin for verification.

6. Upload your valid WAEC scratch card to use for result verification.

7. Upload a copy of your WAEC SSCE result printout in the appropriate section.

8. Submissions start at 5 p.m. on Sunday, 10th September, and will end at 5 p.m. on Sunday, 24th September.

9. The student with the best grades (the best WAEC result out of all the submissions) will be contacted on Wednesday, 27 September.

10. The award will be presented on Thursday, 4th October 2023, at the school where the examination was written – if it is within Northern Cross River State.

A significant achievement for democracy – Dr. Beshel congratulates Gov Otu on the Tribunal victory.

Dr. Justin Atiang Beshel, the Cross River State Commissioner for Science, Innovation, and Technology, has congratulated Sen. Bassey Edet Otu, the Governor of Cross River State, and the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey on their victory at the Election Petition Tribunal.

On Tuesday, the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Sandy Onor, against the election of Bassey Otu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was struck out by the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Cross River State.

The panel decided to reject the petition on the grounds of its lack of merit. Dr. Beshel acclaimed the triumph of the Election Petition Tribunal as well-deserved and a significant achievement for democracy.

BREAKING: Tribunal Strikes Out PDP, Sandy Onor’s Petition In Cross River

The petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Sandy Onor, against the election of Bassey Otu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was struck out by the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Cross River State on Tuesday.

 

The panel delivered a judgment dismissing the petition due to lack of merit. Onor, the PDP candidate, contested the victory of Otu declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the South-South state’s March 18 poll.

According to the results announced by INEC, Otu received 258,619 votes, while Onor reportedly received 179,636 votes.

Otu, the APC candidate, emerged as the winner in 15 out of the 18 local government areas declared by the commission in Calabar, the capital of Cross River State.

Speaker Ayambem Commended for Dedication to Service and Community Development

 

The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem was lauded for his commitment to public service and his notable contributions to community development. The accolades came pouring in during a Thanksgiving service held in his honor at Christ Ascension Church, Nde three corners, Ikom.

Representing the state’s Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Otu, Deputy Governor Rt Hon. Peter Odey took the podium to express the government’s admiration for Speaker Ayambem’s dedication to legislative duties. Governor Otu’s praise extended to Ayambem’s efforts in spearheading the construction of a new church building for his local congregation.

“As Speaker, he is doing very well. He is a good man. We thank God for his life and pray that God will lift him higher. The government will continue to give him the needed support to do more,” Governor Otu affirmed.

The event drew the presence of Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and Chairman of Speakers Forum, celebrated Ayambem as a friend and a fellow legislator dedicated to public service.

Speaker Ayambem himself shared a profound testimony, emphasizing that nothing can be achieved in life without divine ordination. He articulated his motive for hosting the Thanksgiving service as a gesture of gratitude towards God for His mercies upon him and his family. Ayambem also urged attendees to contribute generously to the church building project as a way to give back to his immediate community.

“A man cannot achieve anything if God does not approve. God has blessed me, and I intend to give back,” the Speaker noted.

He expressed his gratitude to his wife, Mrs. Nelly Elvert Ayambem, for her support and extended appreciation to all those who attended the Thanksgiving service, including the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, the State Party Chairman, Bar. Alphonsus Ogar Eba, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, Speakers of Oyo, Adebo Ogundoyin, Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye

Reverend Gospel Samuel, the Senior Pastor of Christ Ascension Church, commended Speaker Ayambem for his dedication to serving humanity. He highlighted Ayambem’s historic achievement as the first Bakor son and the first indigenous Ikom son to become the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly. The pastor also commended the Speaker’s benevolence and generosity, which have positively impacted his constituency and beyond.

The highlight of the Thanksgiving service was the generous donations of building materials and cash by Speaker Ayambem and those in attendance, along with heartfelt prayers for the Speaker and his family.

BREAKING: FG declares Wednesday September 27 public holiday

The Federal Government has officially declared Wednesday, September 27, 2023, as a public holiday to observe Eil-ul-Maulid celebration.

In a statement released by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Oluwatoyin Akinlade, on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Muslims were congratulated for being able to experience this year’s occasion.

The minister also urged them to embrace the values of love, patience, tolerance, and perseverance that were exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Why We Applied For A Delay In US Court Order Till Monday, 24 ~ Tinubu’s Lawyers

We are not against the release of the academic documents to Atiku Abubakar, but we applied for a delay in the release of the records to Atiku till Monday, 24 September just to correct the lies Atiku deceived the US court with by claiming that he wanted to use the documents as evidence in the election petition tribunal ongoing in Nigeria when in fact, he did not filed any suit on Tinubu’s academic records in all his petitions in Nigeria

Also, the US magistrate lacks the power to order the. University to release student records but can only recommend to a district judge. These are the anomalies that we wish to be corrected

However, the US district judge, which heard the delay appeal on Thursday night has agreed to our plead and adjourn judgment to Thursday next week.

Meanwhile, all the non-privileged documents, the Admission Letter to CSU, the Acceptance Letter, the Transcript for all the semesters, and the certificate of graduation, which Atiku is seeking were brought before the court by Chicago State University administrators, and already in the public domain, so there is absolutely nothing to hide aside that Atiku merely wants to play dirty on social media with the suit

Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, the Speaker, of Cross River State House of Assembly, urges members of the Ikom Traditional Rulers Council to preserve their cultural landmarks and uphold principles of justice, equity, and fairness in the election of their new paramount ruler.

The event was graced by the presence of Etiyin Dr. Etim Okon Edet, Chairman of the Cross River State Traditional Rulers Council and the paramount ruler of Bakassi.
