In a show of support for education and innovation, Chief Hon (Dr) Sunny Ayang JP, the Executive Chairman of Obanliku Local Government Area, joined in the celebration of PhD graduates of Obanliku extraction at the 37th Convocation Ceremony of the University of Calabar in Calabar.
Representatives of the Chairman, including Mr. Denis Inakefe, Mr. Thomas Ashibi, Godspower Ayang, and Finance Supervisor Mrs. Antonia Inakefe, met with the graduates at their reception venues after the convocation ceremony. They also gave financial support to the graduates, ensuring that even those who were not in Calabar received support from the Chairman.
The Executive Chairman expressed pride in the graduates, emphasising the importance of their achievements. He acknowledged that their hard work not only enhances their own knowledge but also contributes significantly to the broader world of research and learning.
He congratulated the graduates and encouraged the young people of Obanliku to continue pushing the boundaries of knowledge. “By gaining new skills and understanding, you help build a local government where education fuels progress and fosters a culture of integrity,” he stated.
The newly minted doctors, including Dr. Akah Pius, Dr. Margaret Inde, Dr. Udama David, Dr. Umah Akpanke, Dr. Abana Clement, Dr. John Odey, Dr. Anthony Anyam, and others, expressed their heartfelt thanks to the Chairman for his generosity and encouragement.
