Rep gives ₦2m and a cow each to traditional rulers’ councils in Obanliku, Obudu and Bekwarra, receives royal blessings and commendation for consistency.
In the spirit of the New Yam Festival, Hon. Peter Akpanke, Member Representing Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku Federal Constituency, paid courtesy visits to the palaces of the Paramount Rulers of Obanliku, Obudu, and Bekwarra LGAs.
Addressing the monarchs, Hon. Akpanke thanked them for providing stability and for their role as custodians of our culture and heritage. He noted that as a home boy, he deeply understands the significance of the festival, which is why he has consistently celebrated with traditional rulers and constituents long before and since his election to the House of Representatives.
In commemoration of the festival, Hon. Akpanke donated three cows and ₦6,000,000 to the Council of Traditional Rulers of his constituency, with each LGA receiving one cow and ₦2,000,000.
The Paramount Ruler of Obudu, Utsu Felix Okudare, commended the Honourable Member for his consistency and love for the people. He assured him that just as he has continued to remember his people, the people will never forget him.
The Paramount Rulers of Bekwarra and Obanliku also expressed appreciation and offered prayers and royal blessings for the continued success of the member.
