The grassroots intervention drive of the Member representing the Bekwarra/Obudu/Obanliku Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Peter Akpanke, has reached Agim in Ukpah Ward, Bekwarra Local Government Area, with the drilling of a solar-powered motorised borehole now underway.
The latest intervention adds another Bekwarra community to the growing number of communities benefiting from Akpanke’s constituency development initiatives, particularly in the provision of basic infrastructure and access to potable water.
Residents of Agim have welcomed the project, describing the intervention as timely and responsive to a longstanding need in the community.
For the people, the project represents more than the construction of another borehole. It is a direct intervention in an essential need that affects households, families and the wellbeing of the community.
The solar-powered system is expected to provide a more sustainable source of water while reducing dependence on conventional electricity for pumping and improving the reliability of the facility.
The Agim intervention also adds to the wider water project drive being implemented across the Bekwarra/Obudu/Obanliku Federal Constituency, reflecting Akpanke’s stated focus on taking constituency interventions closer to the people.
With drilling now underway, residents are looking forward to the completion and commissioning of the facility and the relief it is expected to bring to households that have had to contend with limited access to clean and reliable water.
From Obanliku to Obudu and now Bekwarra, the ongoing interventions continue to place grassroots infrastructure at the centre of Akpanke’s constituency development agenda.
For Agim, the message from the project is simple: another community has been reached, another basic need is being addressed, and another constituency intervention is taking shape.
From community to community, the projects continue.
