There was deep emotion in Abuja as Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, who represents Cross River North, alongside his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Offiong Jarigbe, joined family, friends, and political associates at a Night of Tributes held in honour of the late Senator Mpigi Barrinada.
The solemn ceremony took place at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre and drew a long list of prominent figures, including senior government officials, lawmakers, and other dignitaries, all gathered to celebrate the life and service of the departed statesman.
Paying tribute, Senator Jarigbe described the late Mpigi as more than a political associate, saying he was a strong source of encouragement whose bond with him and his family became deeply personal over the years.
According to Jarigbe, their relationship grew beyond friendship into brotherhood, as he urged the family to take comfort in the meaningful and impactful life the late senator lived.
Also speaking, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike, praised Mpigi as a bold and principled leader whose public life was shaped by courage, service, and conviction.
In the same vein, Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, remembered him as a man of integrity whose commitment to national development and public service left a lasting mark.
Many of those present described the late senator as a bridge-builder, a voice of peace, and a consistent defender of justice.
The night was not only a moment of grief, but also a fitting celebration of a life of service and a legacy that will not be forgotten.
