Residents of Busafung in Obanliku Local Government Area have gained access to a solar-powered borehole following an intervention facilitated by the member representing Bekwarra, Obudu and Obanliku Federal Constituency, Hon. Peter Akpanke.
For years, residents of the community have faced challenges accessing reliable sources of clean water, with many reportedly travelling considerable distances to fetch water for their daily needs.
The completion of the borehole project is expected to ease the burden on residents by providing a closer and more dependable source of water within the community.
Beyond improving access to water, the intervention is expected to support household needs and contribute to better sanitation and living conditions for residents.
The project is part of a series of infrastructure interventions attributed to Hon. Akpanke across communities in the federal constituency.
Supporters of the lawmaker say his interventions across different wards reflect his focus on addressing basic infrastructure needs at the grassroots.
