All Progressive Congress (APC) women on Saturday flagged off the south-south women presidential campaigns for the party’s candidates; Bola Ahmed and Kashim Shettima, with a call on women to uphold the party with seriousness to attain victory.
On arrival in Calabar, the first lady and her entourage paid a courtesy call on the Obong of Calabar, His Eminence, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V, to discuss their plans ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Speaking at the event held at the U.J Esuene Sports Stadium, Calabar, the state capital, Aisha Buhari, the wife of Nigeria’s president, ably represented by Fatima Buhari, expressed optimism that women and youths will deliver in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
She noted that the party stands for peace and progress, urging the women to carry the campaign with seriousness and commitment.
Similarly, the Cross River State first lady, Dr. Mrs. Linda Ayade admonished women and youths to vote for the party in the state given the track records of the present administration.
Tinubu and his running mate as tested people with records of achievements, adding that what the country needs, at this time, are tested men.
The flag-off also had in attendance the Cross River State Deputy Governor, Prof. Ivara Esu, the speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Eteng Jones, the APC governorship candidate in Cross River State, Sen. Prince Otu, amongst others.
