In a landmark event marking the beginning of a new era, lasting peace and unity have finally returned to the Kukare Community with the signing of a peace accord by key stakeholders. This agreement puts an end to the prolonged leadership crisis and internal conflicts that have disrupted harmony within the community for years.
The historic occasion was attended by the Executive Chairman of Obanliku Local Government Area, Hon. Chief (Dr) Sunny Ayang JP, a national awardee and Ambassador of Peace. He joined the Traditional Rulers Council, chiefs, elders, community elites, women, and youth of Kukare in celebrating this significant milestone.
Also present were the Vice Chairman of Council, Hon. Glory Awowoh; Leader of the Obanliku Legislative Council, Hon. Sunday Elam; Deputy Leader, Hon. Ufada Amin; Paramount Ruler of Obanliku, HRM Amb. (Dr) Amos Item; Community Relation Officer, Supol Linus Afen; Ward Relation Officer, Hon. Chris Ukobru; Supervisor for Agriculture, Gabriel Ugbo; Clan Head of Kukare Community, Chief John Kagbang; the Divisional Police Officer (DPO); the DSS Divisional Officer; political appointees; civil servants; and various community stakeholders.
The atmosphere was filled with joy and relief as prayers were offered, traditional gun salutes were fired in a symbolic gesture of peace, and cultural dances showcased vibrant displays. Excitement filled the air as participants celebrated with food, drinks, and fellowship, marking a new chapter of reconciliation and collective progress.
