The Executive Chairman of Obanliku Local Government Area, Hon. Chief (Dr.) Sunny Ebebe Ayang, JP, has joined Nigerians in celebrating the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary.

In his goodwill message on October 1, 2025, Ayang commended the people of Obanliku for their resilience, hospitality, and commitment to peace and progress. He described Independence Day as a reminder of Nigeria’s struggles and triumphs, urging citizens to uphold unity, cultural values, and collective responsibility in building a greater nation.

Highlighting his administration’s achievements in infrastructure, education, transportation, healthcare, and youth empowerment, the chairman called for sustained support for the PeoplesFirst government of Governor Bassey Otu.

Addressing the youth, Ayang encouraged them to embrace integrity, innovation, and unity, while also acknowledging the vital roles of traditional rulers, community leaders, and religious institutions in fostering development.

“At 65, Nigeria stands strong, driven by hope and destined for greatness,” he stated, urging the people of Obanliku to celebrate with pride and faith in a brighter future.

He concluded with prayers for the prosperity of Obanliku, Cross River State, and Nigeria.
