The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, was on Wednesday morning treated to a surprise birthday celebration at his residence by his aides, members of the Assembly, members of staff of the Cross River State House of Assembly, and political associates.
The gathering, marked by joy and goodwill, was organised to honour the Speaker for his exemplary leadership, humility, and commitment to public service. Friends, supporters, and close associates joined in celebrating a leader they described as accessible, compassionate, humble and dedicated to the growth of Cross River State.
Speaking on behalf of the organisers, members of the Speaker’s team commended Rt. Hon. Ayambem for his inclusive leadership style, unshaken support for colleagues and staff, and his contributions to strengthening the legislative arm of government. They prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health, wisdom, and greater accomplishments in his service to the state and humanity.
Visibly touched by the gesture, Speaker Ayambem expressed profound appreciation to his aides, Assembly staff, and political associates for the surprise celebration and the outpouring of love.
He described the occasion as a humbling reminder of the strong relationships built over the years and thanked everyone for their loyalty, prayers, and steadfast support. The Speaker reaffirmed his commitment to selfless service, quality representation, and working with Governor Bassey Edet Otu to advance the development of Cross River State.
The celebration featured the presentation of birthday gifts, goodwill messages, prayers and worship session, the cutting of the birthday cake, and moments of fellowship, as attendees wished the Speaker many more years of impactful leadership and dedicated service.
