The Cross River State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of the new Auditor General for the State, Mr. Effiong Asuquo Ita.
The motion for his confirmation was moved by the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sylvester Agabi Jnr., and seconded by Hon. Bete Obi, following the recommendation of the House Committee on Judiciary, Public Service Matters, Public Petitions, and Conflict Resolution.
The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, during the confirmation session, commended the former Auditor General of the State, who was present alongside the new appointee. He stated that this gesture demonstrated unity in the effort to advance the state.
Rt Hon Ayambem urged Mr. Ita to consult with his predecessors to gain insights into the workings of his new office. He also encouraged him to seek clarification from the governor on complex issues to ensure progress for the state.
The Speaker congratulated Mr. Ita and wished him success in his new role.
