Shortly after receiving the Nigerian Senate’s honour, the Executive Chairman of Obanliku Local Government Area, Hon Chief (Dr) Sunny Ayang JP, has been named Chairman of the Year 2025 by the Cross River Cooperative Leaders Forum. The award recognises his work in local governance and his support for community-driven development.
The ceremony was held at the Metropolitan Hotel in Calabar, where the forum noted that his partnership with cooperative societies, community groups, and development agencies has strengthened local initiatives across Obanliku.
Speaking through his representative, Mr Mathew Ucheche, the Chairman thanked the forum for the recognition and said he would continue to pursue projects that improve living conditions for the good people of the Obanliku local government area.
