Governor Bassey Edet Otu has approved the constitution of the Cross River State Bursary Steering Committee to ensure the transparent and seamless implementation of the state’s bursary programme.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mr. Linus Obogo, the committee is chaired by the Chairman of the Cross River State Scholarship Board, Prof. Paul Itari.
Other members are Comrade Kelvin Enyam, Mr. Matthew Ucheche, Comrade Abini Okoi, while Dr. Emmanuel Duke will serve as Secretary.
The committee is tasked with developing a transparent bursary application process, designing an efficient data collection and payment framework, engaging key stakeholders, reducing administrative bottlenecks, and recommending strategies to ensure a credible, inclusive, and accountable bursary administration.
The initiative is in line with Governor Otu’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities and improving access to financial support for students across Cross River State.
