The Cross River State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of the Chairman and members of the Local Government Service Commission.
The confirmation was announced during Thursday’s plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, following the successful screening of the nominees by the House Committee on Judiciary, Public Service Matters, Public Petitions, and Conflict Resolution headed by Rt. Hon. Davies Eta.
Those confirmed include Barr. Eyo Nsa Ekpo as Chairman, with Dr. Ekeng Effiong Edet as Commissioner I, Dr. Emmanuel Itakui Ntuyan as Commissioner II, Barr. Ondale Akor as Commissioner III, Hon. Obia Lawrence Bassey as Commissioner IV, Hon. Rita Agbo Anyim as Commissioner V, and Hon. John Olom Otu as Commissioner VI.
The House also confirmed Mr. Bassey Abam Eko as the Auditor General for Local Governments.
The speaker in his remarks urged members of the commission to work with sincerity, transparency, and dedication to the new assignment. He congratulated them and wished them success in their new roles.
