Support continues to surge for Hon. (Dr.) Martin Orim, former Chief of Staff to the Cross River State Government, as the Obanliku Solidarity Movement, APC Crusaders, and Bishiri Road community leaders from Obudu reaffirm their backing for his 2027 House of Representatives ambition.
At the well-attended gathering led by Hon. Anthony Abaka, members of the Obanliku Solidarity Movement commended Chief Orim for his leadership and track record. Representatives including Mrs. Anne Takus, Mr. Fidelis Basake, and Sir Emmanuel Ukobere highlighted his achievements in human capital development, empowerment initiatives, and infrastructure. They declared their support was based on his performance, adding that “a good friend is better than a bad brother,” emphasising the importance of competence over sentiment.
Similarly, the APC Crusaders, under the leadership of Mr. Ikem Ukeh Lawrence along with Emmanuel Utande, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Orim to express their unflinchin support. Mr. Sam Ukpanukpong from Begiadin, speaking on behalf of a coalition of support groups, noted that someone who performed exceptionally as an appointee would accomplish even more when elected.
Bishiri Road community leaders of Obudu also lent their voices. Comrade Nathaniel Andoya, Chairman of Bishiri Road, and community mobilizer Mr. Godwin Adigeb, along with traditional chiefs, jointly affirmed their support for Hon Orim. They expressed trust in his ability to deliver effective and accountable representation for the Obanliku/Bekwara/Obudu (OBO) Federal Constituency.
In his response, Chief Orim expressed gratitude to the groups for their continued faith in him. He reaffirmed his commitment to ongoing empowerment programs, skill acquisition initiatives, and development efforts. “The OBO Federal Constituency deserves a higher level of representation. We must move beyond solar lights and motorcycles, an I am ready to raise the bar,” he assured.
Earlier on, Hon Orim paid a courtesy visit to one of his political associate, Mr Godwin Undeshi (popularly known as Arewa) at his residence in Obudu.
