Governor Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State has officially returned to his duties, choosing not to take the previously approved two-week leave extension from the State House of Assembly.
This information was communicated to the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, through a phone call where the Governor shared his decision to immediately resume his official responsibilities.
The Governor explained that the choice to revoke the leave extension stemmed from changes in his previously scheduled commitments, which have now been rearranged, prompting his swift return to work.
The Assembly had approved the extension during its plenary session on April 4, following an official request submitted to the House that was read by the Clerk.
