The Executive Chairman of Obanliku Local Government Council, Hon. Sunny Ayang, JP met with the management of the Ranch Resort yesterday at his office, Sankwala, Obanliku.
The courtesy visit, which was at the instance of congratulating the Executive Chairman on his achievements in his first 100 days in office, also offered the management team the opportunity to familiarise and share their challenges with the Executive Chairman.
Speaking during the meeting, the tour and event manager of the Ranch Resort, Mr. Jerome Akor Ademola highlighted the challenges limiting the Ranch Resort from maintaining its previous status as the world’s highly rated tourism destination. Some of the challenges and suggestions raised included the security of the Ranch community and synergy on subsidizing transportation costs for tourists. He further urged the management of the Ranch Resort to collaborate with the Special Assistant on Public Transportation with the aim of ameliorating transportation costs for potential tourists. He concluded by charging the Special Assistant on Tourism and Refugee Matters, Mr. John Ochon, to quickly swing into action by reviving the suspended mountain race, though a locally organized one in the interim.
