A group under the aegis of Coalition of Cross River Law Graduates recently paid a visit to the Obong of Calabar, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V to seek assistance for a grant in registration for Law School.
The group, led by Victor Egba, had its primary purpose to express solidarity with the Obong of Calabar and to request his intervention in persuading the Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, to allocate a law school grant to the graduates.
The group, delegated by their leader, was received by Obong of Calabar Council of Chiefs, who assured them that their request would be relayed to the Governor and other relevant authorities, saying “We will take your message as that of our children.”
To correct the previously held public perception that Cross River law students have always been neglected in comparison to their counterparts, the group had already written to the state government, requesting assistance in obtaining the grant required to pursue their Law School education.
