The Legislative Wives Association (LEWA) of the Cross River State House of Assembly has paid a solidarity visit to Mrs Nelly Elverts Ayambem, wife of the Speaker, at her official residence in Calabar.
The visit was led by LEWA’s Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Glory Egbe, wife of the Member representing Obubra II State Constituency, alongside other spouses of the Cross River State lawmakers.
According to Mrs. Egbe, the purpose of the visit was to seek reconciliation, foster unity, promote solidarity, and strengthen ties among members of the legislative family. She stressed the importance of building mutual support and understanding within the association.
In her remarks, Mrs. Ayambem expressed gratitude for the visit, describing it as a step in the right direction. She called for renewed cooperation and a spirit of togetherness among members. She pledged to work with them as a team and expressed a willingness to learn from others, noting that leadership is a shared responsibility.
Mrs. Ayambem further reaffirmed LEWA’s status as a government-recognised body and encouraged members to continue supporting the policies and programs of the Cross River State Government under the leadership of Governor Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu.
Other wives of the lawmakers in attendance included Mrs. Gloria Ogban (Biase), Mrs. Elizabeth Davies (Abi), Mrs. Purity Odey (Yala I); Mrs. Florence Nsa (Calabar South II), Mrs. Tamunoye Bassey (Akpabuyo), Mrs. Kate Bette (Boki I), Mrs. Helen Ntui (Etung), Mrs. Glory Egbe (Obubra II), Mrs. Amah Ekarika (Calabar South I), Sis. Gloria Agbor (Obubra I); Mrs. Mabel Okon Owuna (Akamkpa I), and Sis. Edidiong Achado (Yala II).
