Momentum continues to build behind Hon. (Dr.) Martin Orim, former Chief of Staff to the Cross River State Government, as the Obanliku Solidarity Movement, APC crusaders, and grassroots leaders from across Obudu reaffirm their full support for his 2027 House of Representatives bid.
At a vibrant solidarity meeting convened by Hon. Anthony Abaka, members of the Obanliku Solidarity Movement hailed Chief Orim’s impressive record, describing him as a results-oriented leader. Prominent voices including Mrs. Anne Takus, Mr. Fidelis Basake, and Sir Emmanuel Ukobere emphasized that their support was rooted in his visible achievements in human capital development, skill acquisition programs, and infrastructural growth. Echoing the sentiment that “a good friend is better than a bad brother,” they urged the electorate to prioritize proven performance over sentiment-driven politics.
In a separate yet related development, APC Crusaders led by Mr. Ikem Lawrence paid a courtesy visit to welcome Hon. Orim and reaffirm their unwavering support. Speaking during the visit, Mr. Sam Ukpanukpong from Begiadin, representing a coalition of support groups, declared, “A man who has done well as an appointee will certainly achieve more when elected.”
Local community leaders also rallied behind the candidacy. Comrade Nathaniel Andoya, Chairman of Bishiri Road, and Mr. Godwin Adigeb, a well-known community mobilizer, joined forces with traditional chiefs to collectively endorse Orim, expressing their confidence in his capacity to deliver quality representation for the Obanliku/Bekwara/Obudu (OBO) Federal Constituency.
In his response, Chief Martin Orim expressed heartfelt gratitude for the show of solidarity and renewed his commitment to people-centered leadership. He assured the groups of continued investment in empowerment initiatives, human capital development, and meaningful infrastructure. “The OBO Federal Constituency deserves more than solar lights and motorcycles. We must elevate our expectations, and I am ready to deliver,” he stated.
