The Executive Chairman of Council, Hon. Chief Sunny Ayang, JP, on Tuesday led party leaders and stakeholders in Bisu Ward to formally receive defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party into the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The defectors were led by Mr. Timothy Adah, a Legislative Aide to Senator Jarigbe Agom, who announced their decision to align with the APC following wide consultations with their supporters and political associates. The development marks a notable boost to the party’s grassroots strength in the ward and the wider local government area.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Chief Sunny Ayang, JP, congratulated the new members on what he described as a timely and strategic decision. He urged them to uphold unity, loyalty, and cooperation with existing party structures, stressing that internal cohesion remains central to building a strong, disciplined, and formidable APC in the local government. 
The Executive Chairman assured the defectors of equal treatment, support, and full inclusion in party activities, noting that the APC remains an open and inclusive platform committed to collective progress, effective leadership, and responsive grassroots governance.
In his remarks, Mr. Timothy Adah expressed appreciation to the party leadership and stakeholders for the warm reception accorded him and his team. He pledged the full commitment and loyalty of the defectors to the ideals, programmes, and vision of the All Progressives Congress.
Also present to receive the new members were the APC Chapter Chairman, Pst. George Ejikang; the APC Senatorial Women Leader, Mrs. Janet A. Inakefe; the APC Ward Chairman, Mr. Solomon Eyem; and APC chieftain, Chief Ukandi Inakefe. Other party stakeholders and executives in attendance included Mr. Denis Inakefe, Mr. Johnpaul Anakai, Barr. Emmanuel Itile, Mr. Justine Ejikpese, Dr. Augustine Akwu, among others.
Among those who defected were former PDP chapter executive members for Bisu Ward, PDP ward executives, Hon. Justin Adida, and several other notable figures, indicating a significant shift in the local political landscape.
The event attracted a large turnout of party faithful from across the Local Government Area, including Engr. Cestine Abaka, Hon. John Atiteh, Mr. Fidelis Baseke, and Mr. Hilary Abekwashi.
