The Executive Chairman of Obanliku Local Government Area, Hon. Chief (Dr) Sunny Ayang, JP, has marked his first anniversary in office, celebrating a year defined by visionary leadership, growth, and impactful governance.
The well-attended thanksgiving event held at the Council Chapel drew dignitaries, traditional rulers, political leaders, and stakeholders from across the state. The thanksgiving service was moderated by Pastor Sylvester Kanung, Special Assistant on Religious Affairs, while Rev. Dr. Moses Odey, JP, District Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Obudu, delivered the sermon.
In his address, Hon. Ayang highlighted his administration’s achievements, citing major infrastructural projects, community empowerment programs, and improved local governance as key milestones of his one-year tenure. He reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, inclusive leadership, and the continued development of Obanliku under a people-first agenda.
Leaders present, including the Vice Chairman, Hon. Amb. Glory Awowoh; Council Leader, Hon. Sunday Elam; Secretary, Dr. Joseph Agba; and HOLGA, Mr. James Ndoma, commended the Chairman’s dedication and pledged ongoing collaboration to sustain the momentum of progress.
The event also featured goodwill messages, including one from the Chairman of Kwande LGA, conveyed through his representative, Mr. Jasper, who lauded Hon. Ayang’s leadership and developmental strides.
Highlights of the day included thanksgiving offerings, the cutting of the anniversary cake, and a symbolic toast to continued success. In a unanimous motion, the 7th Legislative Council reaffirmed its total support for the Executive Chairman’s administration and pledged to work closely with him toward a more united and prosperous Obanliku.
The celebration ended in an atmosphere of gratitude and renewed optimism, as guests offered prayers for peace, prosperity, and greater achievements in the years ahead.
