The Legislative Wives Association (LEWA) of the Cross River State House of Assembly, on Wednesday, presented a custom-made glass portrait to the Speaker, Rt Hon Elvert Ayambem, during a surprise birthday celebration.
The gathering, discreetly arranged by the Speaker’s aides, to mark his birthday in arrears, which was on the 22nd of July, and welcomed him back from the China-Africa Training Course on Ocean Governance, recently concluded in China.
In brief remarks, Rt Hon Ayambem thanked the women for their thoughtful gesture. He commended LEWA for their unity and assured them of his continued support and cooperation in all legislative and social engagements.
The Speaker also expressed gratitude to his aides for organizing the surprise birthday and welcome ceremony, and thanked his colleagues, friends, and well-wishers who brought gifts and joined in the celebration
