Governor Bassey Otu’s strong partnership with President Bola Tinubu is ushering in a wave of transformative federal projects across Cross River State.
Barr (Dr.) Ekpenyong Akiba, Special Adviser on General Duties, credited the relationship for unlocking key initiatives such as the Special Agriculture Processing Zone, the dredging and modernization of Calabar Port, and the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway—all poised to drive job creation, investment, and economic growth.
Akiba also praised the Federal Government’s commitment to completing the Bakassi Deep Seaport and highlighted ongoing interventions like student loans and women empowerment programs. He emphasized that Governor Otu’s leadership is positioning Cross River prominently in Nigeria’s development agenda.
Calling for continued patience, Akiba noted that the synergy between the state and federal governments is already yielding results. He urged for accelerated work on vital infrastructure, including the Calabar–Itu and Calabar–Ikom highways, to boost regional connectivity.
With growing bipartisan support and a shared vision under the Renewed Hope Agenda, Cross River is on a clear path toward unprecedented development by 2027.
