High Stone Global University, Texas, USA has conferred a honorary doctorate degree of Transformational Leadership on Captain Eddy Ndoms, a veteran sailor, business man, philanthropist and Entrepreneur.
The degree was awarded at the graduation ceremony of the 2024 African Change Makers Accelerator Lecture Series and Conferment of Doctorate degree held at the Army Resource Center, Asokoro, Abuja, Nigeria.
The University awarded the veteran Captain Eddy in recognition of his outstanding contribution in the development of the Marine Industry in Nigeria and globally, his visionary leadership and the enduring legacy of his highly remarkable achievements in charity works.
Captain Eddy Ndoms received the honorary doctorate degree from President of the University at a glamorous event organized by the prestigious University.
Born in January 21, 1961, in Kabiasu, Boki LGA, Cross River State, Nigeria, Capt. Ndoms’ Journey into the maritime world began with a strong academic foundation. He obtained his early education at Lutheran Primary School, Katchuan Irruan, and Mary Knoll College, Ogoja. His passion for the maritime industry led him to earn a City & Guilds Certificate in Electrical Installation, an OND in Nautical Sciences from the Nigeria institute of Oceanography & Marine Research, Lagos, and later an HND in Maritime Transport & Business Studies from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron.
In 1993, Capt. Eddy Ndoms obtained his Master Mariner Unlimited license in USA after several Foreign-Going Voyages. This license qualifies him to Man a Ship of any gross tonnage in any tonnage of the world.
He is an accomplished maritime expert with over 38 years of experience in the oil and gas logistics industry. As a marine consultant, ship owner, and operator of sea-going Vessels, capt. Ndoms has demonstrated exemplary leadership, profound expertise, and unwavering commitment to advancing maritime operations not only in Nigeria but globally.
Capt. Ndoms’ Illustrious career spans decades of leadership in both national and international maritime sectors. His tenure as Chief Mate and later Ship Captain with Tidewater Marine Inc. and Tidex Marine Ltd. Saw him managing marine logistics operations worldwide. In 1998, he became the Assistant Marine Coordinator for Amni/Abacan Joint Ventures Petroleum Development Company Ltd., followed by roles as marine coordinator and Marine Coordinator and Marine Superintendent at Adamac Group, where he was responsible for a fleet of 33 vessels. His expertise culminated in his role as Marine Manager for West African Oilfield Services.
In 2003, Capt. Ndoms founded the Edward Maritime Group Limited, where he now serves as Chairman and CEO, overseeing 10 subsidiaries. His company operates nine offshore oil and gas service economy and oil and gas logistics.
Capt. Ndoms’ expertise in offshore oilfield operations has eared him deep respect in the industry, with successful engagements with Exxonmobil, Addax Petroleum, Total Elf, Agip/Eni, and others in Nigeria, Ghana, and the US Gulf. His visionary leadership has not only strengthened the maritime sector but also has facilitated economic growth, job creation, and the development of young Maritime Professionals.
A well-traveled individual, Capt. Ndoms has visited 30 states in Nigeria and over 50 Countries, gaining global insights and contributing to the development of maritime industries worldwide. His dedication to humanitarian services, hospitality, and personal reflection speaks to his character, and his contribution to society extends beyond business into community service and philanthropy. His leadership, dedication, and contributions to National and international maritime operations are a testament to his enduring legacy.
