In accordance with the People’s First matra of the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Dr. Justin Beshel, Commissioner for Science and Technology, received over 2,000 bags of rice, tomatoes, and spices from Governor Bassey Edet Otu and gave them to the good people of Obanliku Local Government Area over the course of the weekend in his hometown, as a part of their celebrating Christmas.
Dr. Beshel also donated 1,100,000 million naira as Christmas support in addition to the food items. The leadership of the ten Council Wards of Obanliku received #100,000 each, while the remaining #100,000 went to the All Progressive Congress (APC) Chapter Executives, who were given their share by Chapter Chairman Pst. George Ejikang. 
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Traditional Rulers Council, National Youth Council of Nigeria, and Women Organizations were part of those who benefited from the Christmas gifts distributed by Dr. Beshel.
Along with other stakeholders, Pst. George Ejikang, the chairman of the All Progressive Congress Party Obanliku chapter, thanked Dr. Beshel for his thoughtfulness and proactive leadership and gave him their unwavering support. They also prayed for God’s wisdom and direction as he represents the Obanliku people at the Cross River State Executive Council.
