“The Cross River State Government wishes to inform Cross Riverians that it is not oblivious of the security challenges currently bedeviling the state especially in the Uyanga axis of the Calabar/Akamkpa Federal Highway.

You will recall that after the first attack, government swung into action untill the pepertrators were brought to book.

Unfortunately it has been discovered that some vestiges of these criminals are still carrying out their heinous crimes in the area.

Government wishes to assure Cross Riverians that it has taken adequate measures to beef up security in the affected area to forestall further attacks from these criminals.

Government therefore wishes to assure Cross Riverians that their safety is of utmost priority to even as they go about their legitimate daily activities.

Again, government wishes to commiserate with victims and their families over the trauma and discomfort they have been forced to go through as a result of the activities of these criminals, and assures that no stone will be left unturned until they are brought to justice.

Finally Government urges all Cross Riverians to report any suspicious movement within their vicinity to security personnels around them as security is everybody’s business.”

Kalita Joseph Aruku

Special Adviser, Information to the Governor of Cross River State.
